About Numonym
We rent phone numbers, not identities
A phone number has quietly become a login, a recovery key and a tracking ID at the same time. We think you should be able to have one without handing over who you are.
Why we exist
Your number shouldn’t be your passport
Every app wants a phone number. Banks text it codes, marketplaces print it on receipts, and data brokers tie it to your name, your address and everything you’ve ever signed up for. Getting a second number usually means showing an ID to a carrier — which defeats the point.
Numonym rents mobile, local and national numbers in 12 countries without asking who you are. You pay in crypto, sign in with a random account number, and decide what we keep. The rest of this site explains exactly how — including the limits.

Principles
How we make decisions
Six rules we apply to every feature, price and page — and to what we refuse to build.
Collect nothing we don’t need
If the service can run without a piece of data, we don’t ask for it. Names and documents never made the cut.
Say what a number really is
Carrier mobile or VoIP, texts or not, short codes or not — on every number card, before you pay.
Show the price first
Rental, calls, texts: every price is on screen before you commit, and the rental price never goes up.
Protect the number like an asset
Grace periods, quarantine and a SIM-swap lock, because your accounts depend on it.
Admit the limits
SMS isn’t encrypted and carriers see calls. We’d rather tell you than let you find out.
Refuse abuse
No bulk texting, no spoofing, no fraud. Privacy for people, not cover for scams.
Don’t trust, verify
What you can check yourself, right now
Open your browser’s developer tools on any page of this site.
No third-party trackers
Every font, image and script comes from our own domain — the only exception is Cloudflare’s anti-bot check, loaded when you open the sign-in form. No analytics, no ad networks.
Works without JavaScript
Switch it off, or use Tor Browser’s safest mode: search, prices and every page still work. Only signing in needs it, for the anti-bot check.
A strict security policy
Our Content-Security-Policy header forbids scripts and styles from anywhere else, except that anti-bot check.
Prices in the page
Every price on this site is plain text in the HTML — no “contact sales”, no hidden fees.
Who is behind Numonym?
We don’t publish a legal name or a headquarters — the same reasoning we apply to customers: information the service doesn’t need to run is a liability if it ever leaks. What we do publish is everything that lets you judge the service itself: every price, every stated limit, and a site you can inspect in your browser’s developer tools.
How does Numonym make money without checking who you are?
The same way any phone service does: a one-time activation fee per number, the rental itself, and outgoing calls and texts — every price shown before you commit. Crypto payments and no identity checks also mean there is no personal data to collect or sell in the first place.
Is it legal to use a phone number without ID?
In most countries, yes — renting a number doesn’t require identification any more than buying a prepaid SIM does where SIM registration isn’t mandatory. What is illegal everywhere is what you do with it: our acceptable use policy bans fraud, spoofing and harassment, and abuse reports are reviewed. You’re responsible for the rules where you live.
Can a Numonym number be traced back to me?
Not through us: we don’t ask for a name, an email or an ID, and our web logs don’t include your IP address. But calls and texts still travel over ordinary phone networks, so the number itself isn’t invisible to a carrier under legal process — private by design, not untraceable by magic.
