A Burner alternative that doesn’t need your phone number

With Burner, your phone number is the account
To use Burner you sign in with your own mobile number — Burner accepts US, Canadian and Australian numbers — or with an Apple or Google account. The second line hides your number from the people you call, but Burner itself knows who you are.
A Numonym account is a random 16-digit number and a password: no phone number, no email, no Apple or Google sign-in, and crypto only. How the account works.
Verification codes without an extra plan
Regular Burner lines are internet numbers, which many sign-up forms refuse; Burner sells “Verified Numbers” separately for better acceptance. With Numonym you choose the line type per number: a real mobile number for the accounts that need codes, a cheaper local or national number for the calls.
Beyond the US and Canada
Burner numbers are US and Canadian. Numonym has those too, plus the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Mexico and Brazil — and it works from any country, with no local number of your own.
Fair is fair
What Burner does better
If one of these matters most to you, Burner is the better pick.
Instant burn
Burner is made for disposable lines you replace in a tap. Numonym numbers are rented for months and meant to be kept.
One polished app
Calls, texts, auto-replies and spam blocking in Burner’s apps. Numonym runs in the browser and in any SIP app.
Premium extras
Burner’s Premium plan adds a VPN, video messages and reverse number lookup. Numonym sells numbers and a phone system only.

Move your logins
Change the phone number on your 2FA and recovery settings while you still receive codes on the old one.
Tell your contacts
Send the new number from the old one, or share a username on apps that support it.
Let the old one go
Once nothing points to it any more, cancel the old line. Your new number stays yours as long as you renew.
Do you need a phone number to use Burner?
To create a Burner account you use your own mobile number — Burner accepts US, Canadian and Australian numbers — or sign in with Apple or Google. Numonym needs neither: a password is enough.
Does Burner work for verification codes?
Regular Burner lines are internet numbers, which many services refuse for sign-up codes; Burner sells separate Verified Numbers for that. Numonym real mobile numbers are carrier mobile numbers, in all 12 countries.
Can I burn a Numonym number?
Numonym numbers are rented for 1 to 24 months and built to be kept. You can let one expire, but there is no instant burn button — for one-off throwaway lines, a burner app is the better fit.
Does Burner work outside North America?
Burner numbers are US and Canadian, and the app requires a US, Canadian or Australian number to sign in. Numonym works from anywhere, with numbers in Europe and Latin America too.
